Coat & Scatter
Our resin bonded system uses the same core materials as our resin bound system i.e. natural stone aggregate and polyurethane resin.
However, the installation of this surface is somewhat different deploying a technique known as 'coat and scatter', where the resin is laid directly onot the substrate [rather than being boound directly with the aggregate) and the aggregate is then spread over the top. The maximum stone size is much smaller (5mm). The top surface is free from resin and has a much more textured finish.
This system offers a more cost effective solution than the more robust resin bound system. We however recommend it is used for more decorative purposes rather than in areas which will receive heavy wear load. Both the resin bound and bonded systems have the appearnace of loose gravel but with none of the disadvantages.
